Graham’s paintings are shaped by more than 25 years of living and exploring British Columbia.
As a skier, hiker and outdoor enthusiast, he finds inspiration in the mountains, forests, wildlife and coastal communities surrounding Vancouver and Whistler. Other paintings begin with familiar city experiences: pedestrians crossing rain-soaked streets, reflections beneath storefront lights and historic Vancouver buildings transformed by colour.
Graham works primarily in oil on canvas. His style combines recognizable subjects with energetic brushwork, bold warm-and-cool contrasts and his personal interpretation of the moment.
Each original painting is one of a kind, signed by Graham Watts and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Bears, wolves, eagles and other Canadian animals are presented as individuals with presence and personality.
Expressive eyes, dramatic lighting and rich colour invite the viewer to experience an emotional connection with each animal—not simply observe it from a distance.

Originally from Guelph, Ontario, Graham moved to British Columbia more than 25 years ago. The mountains, ocean, wildlife and urban landscapes of the West Coast gradually became central to his artistic identity.
His paintings are influenced by the strong design and Canadian spirit associated with artists such as Lawren Harris, Emily Carr and E.J. Hughes. Graham interprets these influences through his own vibrant palette, optimistic outlook and contemporary approach to storytelling.
His artistic process often begins outdoors with observation, photography, sketches and notes. In the studio, he studies the subject’s light, movement, atmosphere and emotional character before developing the painting through successive layers of oil colour, texture and glazing.
Graham is a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. His artwork has been shown at exhibitions, art festivals and venues in Vancouver, Whistler and other British Columbia communities.
Graham accepts a limited number of commissioned paintings.
A commission may celebrate a meaningful landscape, a favourite animal, a Whistler experience, a Vancouver scene or a place connected with an important personal memory.
Every project begins with a conversation about the subject, dimensions, room, colours and story behind the artwork. Graham can also help determine an appropriate canvas size and prepare a visual mock-up showing how the proposed painting may look in the collector’s space.
Selected paintings can be viewed at Arts Off Main Gallery in Vancouver. Private viewings may also be arranged, depending on the location of the artwork.
